29th January 2010- first art lesson, first day of school
Today I found out that I was in va7- taught by Ms Naylor. We got given a very exciting and fun task!! PAINTING THE TILES IN D BLOCK similar to the powder room in E BLOCK. So anyways, we received handouts of information about the excursion on the upcoming wednesday. It seemed like a lot of work to do and that this term was not going to be easy. In order to prepare for our tiles, we have to create a flipbook first, a picture of you in school uniform, a picture of you as a plant and a picture of you as an insect. First thing i thought was: "okay, easy.. all i have to do is draw myself, a flower and an insect." I was a bit confused about myself as a plant and insect. Did that mean just a plant and insect that symbolises who i am or incorporate human characteristics of myself inside the plant and insect?
After Ms Naylor explained everything that was going to happen this term, we took photographs of ourselves in order to do the picture of the flipbook and then that was it. Our very first lesson of the term yet jampacked with loads to do!
Oh i found a very awesome website where other artists around the world express their thoughts of art through making art. it can contain some things that are a bit inappropriate but nonetheless it has lots of good artworks and there are many categories the artwork goes in such as Photography and Digital Art.
